The MBG Degausser is among the most compact, lightweight, and effective hard disk degaussers in its category. It uses the latest technology to permanently erase data from magnetic media.
Applications
Designed for businesses and government agencies that need secure erasure of confidential data when decommissioning or returning computers. The portable design also makes it an effective tool for companies that provide on-site data erasure services.
How it works
The degausser erases digital data on all functional and non-functional magnetic media, including PMR/LMR hard drives and tapes, regardless of data capacity or interface type. It measures the magnetic field of the media and eliminates all data, which cannot be recovered afterwards. Servo tracks are also erased, so media that rely on them (e.g. hard drives) cannot be restored either. No software is required for the erasure process, so the system operates independently of the operating system.
Security
The degausser generates approximately 20,000 gauss in a patented zone-construction erasure system. This delivers performance at the level of NSA-listed degaussing devices. The unit has been tested and validated for safe operation with low levels of field leakage.
Easy to use
Insert the media into the chamber, press the erase button, then remove. An LCD display on the front shows the total number of erasures performed and the magnetic flux density used. A flashing indicator at the chamber door confirms that the magnetic field is active. If the magnetic flux density drops below a set threshold, an LED warning is triggered. A built-in cooling fan activates when needed during operation. Once media is inserted and the door is closed, it locks automatically to prevent access during the erasure cycle.
